About This Project
Rio Laghetto Classic
The Rio Laghetto rivulet which flows into the Sesia River near our basecamp is a torrent with a medium difficulty level, between the Sorba and the Artogna torrents. We have divided it into two sections to enable everyone to make the descent, by reducing permanence in the gorge and attenuating the difficulty. It features waterfalls, slides, passing through a syphon, all of which can be done by rope.
This route starts relatively close to our basecamp, a short 15/20 minute walk along a mountain path which dominates the island where Eddyline is situated. The route ends very near our basecamp.
Those who love abseiling will definitely not be disappointed by this excursion.
This activity is carried out during the whole week, from Monday to Sunday.
The route takes us through the Tetti hamlet of Campertogno along a path which dominates Campertogno and our basecamp from above. This 20/25 minute walk takes us to the entry point of the torrent. From here, we abseil inside the gorge upstream from the first waterfall. In total there are 5 descents by abseiling down 5 waterfalls, the highest of which is approximately 25 metres and can been seen from our basecamp. Unspoilt nature! Technical excursion. Low/medium level of difficulty. Suitable for novices or as additional outing.
From June to September (activity start-up and closure may be influenced by levels of seasonal river depths).
This is a group activity, formed by a minimum of 3 people. Suitable for those with previous experience
Approximately 4 and a half to 5 hours, including travel from and to the basecamp, kitting-up and descent techniques and river safety briefing. Excursion duration may vary on the basis of the number of participants in the group, their speed along the route and in the gorge, water levels and weather conditions.
